READ (Psalm 119:105)
“By your words I can see where I’m going;
They throw a beam on my dark path.”
REFLECT
It seems so easy, yet we humans make it so difficult. We toss and turn during the night, ordaydream during the day distracted by a weighty problem. Maybe it is a disagreement with acoworker or a difference in opinion with a spouse or partner. Maybe it is how to have an important conversation with a son/daughter. Whatever it is, we humans usually think if we ponder and wrestle with the problem, we will get it solved and everything will be fine. Often, we do waste a lot of time, energy and sleep in the process.
Psalm 119 reminds us that we need to be immersed in God’s word. By reading his wordregularly, we get to know this God who loves us so much and we learn to trust his infinite wisdom. His words bring clarity to our muddled minds and courage to move forward. The path is brighter because we are not walking alone. God loves and cherishes each of his children and wants to be their guide.
PRAY:
Dear Father, thank you for always being present when we call, for understanding our problems and concerns. Thank you for being a light on our dark days and giving us the guidance we need. Help us to realize we don’t have to go it alone. In Christ’s name we pray, Amen
