READ (Revelation 4:11)

“Worthy are you, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
for you created all things,
and by your will they existed and were created.”

REFLECT

This hymn of praise in the book of Revelation is a good reminder to me about what and who is important in my life.  It starts with adoration and acknowledgement that we should give God glory, honor, and power.  As well we should!  And then we are reminded that God created all things.

In this beautiful time of year, let’s use all our five senses and boost our awareness of God’s creation.  Take a moment to look at the beauty around you today and marvel at God’s handiwork.  At this time of year God offers us a beautiful symphony, if we just take a moment, turn on all of our senses and enjoy.  Pink and white crabapples, purple lilacs, bluebells, redbud trees, and even yellow dandelions all join together to sing God’s praises.  We can join in too and praise God for the beauty we see today!

PRAY:

Good and gracious God, we marvel at the abundance of your creation.  The extravagance of sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and textures all bear witness to the magnitude of the grace you give and the love you have for us.  Help us to use the gifts of your creation wisely, and to preserve it for generations to come.  Amen
