Fjeldberg – Devotion for March 25th, 2025
READ (1 Timothy 6:6-7)
But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.
REFLECT
Do you ever notice how in today’s world, society relentlessly fosters discontentment by constantly pushing individuals to conform to ideals of success, happiness, and material wealth. Around every corner, there’s pressure to keep up—to buy the latest gadgets, wear the trendiest clothes, or achieve the next milestone. You have to mindfully make a point to turn it all off and just be….content. An attitude of the heart and mind that is not dependent on external possessions, wealth or circumstances, but about being satisfied with God’s provisions in one’s life, whether that is material, relational, or spiritual. Some of the happiest people I know are simply…..content.
PRAY:
Lord, help us to find peace and contentment in the simple things, and to trust that you are always providing for our needs. We are grateful for all that we have, and pray that we may be content in your love and grace. Amen.
