Bible Text

“He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge.”

(Psalm 91:4)

Reflect

Do you ever catch a glimpse of a bright red cardinal against the white winter snow? I often see them when I am out walking on a winter’s day. It always makes me pause. Something about their vibrant beauty and the phrase “cardinals appear when angels are near.”   For those of us who have lost loved ones, it rings extra poignant. It brings a feeling of comfort and peace. I think of heaven and wonder what unimaginable beauty awaits. Knowing that God is taking precious care of those we have lost and giving us a little sign of His presence. When you see a cardinal, take a moment to acknowledge its presence and reflect on the message it might be bringing to you.

Pray

Dear God, thank You for the beautiful gift of the cardinal, a vibrant symbol of hope, love, and the promise of new life. The comforting reassurance that You are always near, watching over us. Thank You for allowing us to take refuge in the promise of eternal life with You in Heaven.   In Your name we pray, Amen.
