READ (2 Corinthians 9:12)

This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.

REFLECT

This week we celebrate Thanksgiving. A time when we focus on counting our blessings and expressing gratitude for everyone in our lives and all that we have. As a Christian, I am eternally grateful for all God has given me, as are you, I am sure. I am also reminded that not everyone is able to put aside their troubles and focus on the blessings. And as I read this verse (and those surrounding it) I am reminded that as a child of God, I am called to share everything that has been given to me so that I might also share God’s light and love to those in need.

One way to help those in need in our community is through the Huxley food pantry and the clothing pantry. They have done such great work over the years, and during the holidays it can be especially tough to help everyone who comes to their doors. I encourage you to prayerfully consider what you can do to help our brothers and sisters in need through these services in our community.

PRAY:

Gracious God, we thank you for your abounding grace and forgiveness during this holiday season. Help us reach out to those in need and continue sharing the grace and forgiveness you so willingly give. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
