BIBLE TEXT
“Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” (Matthew 6:27)
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)
REFLECT
Do you ever find yourself constantly worrying? I often find myself worrying about small stuff, big stuff…just stuff. Things I cannot control, but at times it can consume me if I let it. Maybe some of us, on this Election Day, are even worrying about the state of our nation and what tomorrow will look like. I constantly have to remind myself of the above verse. “Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” God does not want us to waste time on the unproductive nature of worrying. He is the only one who has perfect control over everything. We need to have Faith in God’s plan for us. That he provides for us and will take care of us.
PRAY
Heavenly Father, thank You for being the omnipotent God who takes care of every need and calms every anxious heart. I give You my worries and concerns, knowing that You are in control, and Your plan is always good. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
