Come to Me all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take
my yoke upon you and learn from me. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
(Matthew 11:28-30)
REFLECT
This verse in Matthew feels so familiar, we all know we’ve heard it countless times on
our faith journey, but how often do we actually think through what we are being told
here? He is waiting for you, no matter how weary and burdened you are, to come to
him. Have you ever noticed this verse is specifically for those who are weary and
burdened, not those who are full of strength and pride?
Life can be hectic and full of anxiety. There may be painful days, difficult seasons, or
confusing outcomes – but Mathew reminds us that our God is steady, unchanging,
unwavering, and firm.
PRAY
Heavenly Father, when we lose sight of you and our priorities are overtaken by worldly
views, help us to take a step back and reset our minds. We can accomplish so much
with you by our side, keeping our eyes fixed on you. Amen.
