 Bible Texts

“. . .the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the  comfort we ourselves have received from God.”.     (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)

Reflect

After moving to Huxley years ago we were home one Saturday night when the phone rang.

A former student from our Sunday School classes (when we lived up north) was south of town on a trip with the youth group she and her husband were chaperoning when they had blown a tire just south of Huxley.

We gathered the group at our house for pizza while her husband and I went in search of a tire. She shared with Lhea that at first she had thought the adults would take care of the situation and then realized She was the adult! Then she remembered that we had relocated to Huxley and called for help.

Coincidence that we lived here and their tire deflated so close to us? And that we were even home? I prefer to believe it was the Lord’s long-term planning. Truly a God of details who is invested in our lives.

Pray

Lord we can only stand in awe of your provisions for our lives. We thank you for your continued care and comfort. As Paul encouraged the Corinthians to share their comfort, open our eyes to those who need our assistance in times of trouble.  Amen.
