Reflect
It’s amazing the blessings I feel when I’m around little kids. I was taking care of my 4-year-old granddaughter the other day and as sometimes will be the case with toddlers, I found that some creative motivation was in order. With the task completed, I gave her the promised jellybean. And she looked up at me with those beautiful eyes and asked for another. Of course, I gave it to her. Instead of popping both in her mouth like I was expecting, she ran over to her grandpa, plopped one in his hand and declared “everyone wins when we share.” Made me smile!
Here’s the thing about sharing with others: We can do it no matter where we are. We can have a welcoming demeanor and open-hearted attitude anywhere. Give a stranger a smile when you’re out running errands. Knock on your neighbor’s door and share your extra tomatoes. Drop some extra groceries at the food pantry. The blessings will come right back to you.
Pray
God, you sent your Son to suffer and die for us. Help me to share with others what you have already given me, showing them Your love as I do so. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
